About

To everything there is a season,

A time for every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born, And a time to die;

A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted;

A time to kill, And a time to heal;

A time to weep, And a time to laugh;

A time to mourn, And a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones;

A time embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to gain, And a time to lose;

A time to keep, And a time to throw away;

A time to tear, And time to sew;

A time to keep silence, And a time to speak;

A time to love, And a time to hate;

A time of war, And a time of peace.

Psalms 3:1-8

Hello,

I’m so very glad you stopped by my site.  I hope you will visit often.  I’m the wife and mother of four blessings–one born in each season.  I’m learning everyday how to follow and live a life pleasing to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Stringing words into sentences brings me great delight.  It’s both challenging and exciting, painting pictures using only the color of my pen–or more appropriately my word processor.  I never expect to be a writer–like John Boy Walton.  I’ve never even kept a diary or a journal.  However, I’m an avid reader–devouring books like cheesecake–passionate about history, and love Jesus.  Therefore, about eight years ago I decided to try my hand at writing Historical Christian fiction.

I continue to write–have authored many pages, but as of yet have not finished a manuscript–God willing, someday, I will bring one to completion.  However, for this season of my life I am dedicated to raising my four blessings, gifts from my Heavenly Father; one born in each season.  And to nurture and mature the marriage with the man God gave me my husband, twenty-one years ago, the first gift–given before the blessings arrived.

Ann Voskamp’s book One Thousand Gifts has been such an encouragement to me.  This book has truly been a blessing in my life.  A dare to fully live by counting all that we have to be thankful for.  I’ve been encouraged to take that dare and count.  This attempt at blogging is a direct result of reading Ann’s book and blog.  Thank you Ann for allowing the Lord to use your heart, soul, mind, and hands as instruments for good to so many people!  Thank you Jesus for giving me this love of stringing words together like pearls on a chain and the blessings to make my life complete!

The seasons pass “oh, so, quickly” we can’t afford to squander a minute.  Every moment counts!  It’s so easy to take the gifts the Lord has given and not really see them.  Children precious–although sinners just like us–parents near and far, brothers sisters taken for granted, and friends just a phone call away.  We have these treasures yet we do not treasure them.  Busyness–the urgent–steals our joy.  Slow down savor the moment (el momento).  Look into people’s eyes–see really see–brokenness, sadness, worry, fear, pain unimaginable, love, Hope–yes Hope.  Hope that can only come from the Lord.  Listen with your heart–listen really listen–words that say I’m alright but really mean I’m anything but o.k.  Treasure the gifts the Lord has given.

Give thanks to our maker.  He is our ALL in All!   Look into faces, listen to people’s hearts, and count your blessings in all seasons.

I hope this has been a blessing to you!
