Winter has been throwing a temper fit since December. We here in Ohio are in the middle of an ice/snow storm as we speak. I find God’s wintery creations stunning–I have yet to grow tired of the snowy landscape. I know, however, that I am in the minority.
Flip on the evening news and I hear…enough…enough of this winter. Talk with fellow shoppers and I hear…enough…enough of this winter. I go to church and I hear…enough…enough of this winter. I talk with friends and family and I hear…enough…enough of this winter.
Winter won’t last forever. The fragrance of crocus, tulips, and daffodils will soon permeate the air. Apple and cherry blossom will adorn and bedazzle bare branches. Green blades of grass will cover the barren ground. We say enough knowing we have nothing to lose except a few frozen toes.
What if at any time Christ had decided enough? I’m done? No more of this torment? I’m getting off this cross and going to be with my Father?
BUT HE DIDN’T! He stayed! Why? Love and obedience to the Father! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.
I’m so glad Christ never said enough, aren’t you?
