If Gathering…What I Learned.

if

Welcome…so glad you stopped by. The following post is about the If Gathering Conference…for women, however, if you are a man stopping by I hope you will continue to read–I will be sharing what the Lord revealed to me through this event and believe you too will be blessed.

God’s breathe blew into Austin, Texas where women assembled last weekend for an If Gathering. I participated in this event via simulcast–a truly blessed affair. A whole array of Christian women sharing God’s word–teaching and encouraging women to be the hands and feet of God. The If Gathering’s mission is to gather, equip, and unleash women for God’s work.

If we believe God is real are we living our lives like He is?  Are we running the race that God set before us? Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2.

Run your race…obey God! Each and everyone of us have a specific purpose…job…calling…that only we can live out. None of our past sins can stop us from being who God intended us to be. We need to be brave and obey God’s voice–run the race set before us.

We start and finish on our knees–asking for a vision that reflects the Lords, asking for a heart that looks like the Lords, and asking that the Lord shines His glory in every corner of the world. Praying that the Lord will cut away whatever sins are keeping us from accomplishing the Lord’s will.  We don’t just want to be delivered we want to be free…we want to throw off our sins and walk in freedom.

We mustn’t fall into the comparison trap–measuring ourselves against others. It’s a fatal mistake we humans can’t seam to break ourselves of–measuring. It leads either to self-righteousness or self-doubt. We have been measuring way to much. When we measure our eyes get so small we never see Jesus. Measuring sticks always become swords.–weapons–for self harm, cutting. –Ann Voskamp.

Run your race and remember you can’t run your race if you keep looking backwards. Take every thought captive…don’t believe lies from the evil one.  Replace strongholds with truth. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.

You were made for more and if you don’t live the plans the Lord has for you, you will begin to fade…run your race.

Your calling is often discovered when your talents and burdens collide. If God is calling you; He will equip you. Do not allow fear to to keep you from running your race–run.

The Lord wants to run with us–he wants to be in relationship with us. He wants us to preform our work (build our nest) in His presence. The Lord by our side. Even the sparrow has found a home. And the swallow a nest for herself, Where she may lay her young–Even Your altars, O Lord of hosts, My King and my God. Psalm 84:3–the sparrows and the swallows built there nest in the temple courtyards. These birds could be about their work in the presence of the Lord.

Go and be who you already are, who God designed you to be. Run your race.

Blessings, Kasey

  1. Well said, and if we keep our eyes set on Jesus as we run we won’t be looking around and measuring ourselves against others. I would’ve have loved to have seen this conference. Sounds like a good one.

  3. Hi Kasey, I saw your link on the Essential Devotions blog, and since I’m from Austin, but living in Turkey, I was glad to read something about the IF gathering. I’ve been so curious about it. Thanks for sharing your impressions and your take away from it.

    • Betsy, I’m so glad you got a taste of home from this post. I would highly recommend viewing it via simulcast next year if you are still in Turkey (next conference February 2015). I watched via simulcast and was greatly blessed. God’s presence was all over that conference. Blessings to you from the US. All is Grace, Kasey
