Red

I’m hooking up with “Five-Minute-Friday” I write for 5 minutes flat, unedited on one word–today’s word is RED.

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:27

GO

Of all the colors in the rainbow…RED is the color that gets our attentionit screams look at me.  It excites passion…causes us to notice…calls us to action!

Several years ago Lorrie Mogan sang a popular song, entitled Something in Red; one of the lines in the song was I’m looking for something in red. Like the one that I wore when I first turned his head.  Red turns heads…causes people to take notice.

They roll out the red carpet for the Hollywood stars to walk down.  Those actresses who choose to attend in a red gown will most likely find their photos splashed all over magazine covers.  The eye is automatically draw to the bright red carnations tucked within men’s lapels.

Who of us who have watched the Wizard of Oz will ever forget Dorthy’s ruby red slippers?

Will we be a part of putting a STOP to injustice in this world.  The widows, orphans, and the least of these are not out waving bright red flags screaming do you see me…do you recognize that I’m–sick, hungry, thirsty, and in need of compassion–help!  They must likely aren’t wearing a red shirt, more likely, a colorless one.  If they even have shoes, they are more likely to be caked with brown dirt and grime.  Their faces, that come in many different colors, may be wearing a smile or a look of despair.

RED a call to action!  We can be part of putting a STOP to injustice!

STOP

If you see red, and have heard the call to action WorldHelp.net is a wonderful organization that can help you do just that.

Count blessings, Kasey

  1. Hi, Kasey! I found at you Five Minute Friday 🙂 Great post! We don’t often notice the ones that need our help the most because they’re not catching our attention. Or we’re choosing to ignore them. May we all step up to action more. Blessings!
