Five Minute Friday – Worship

Five Minute Friday/Random 5 Friday

We write for five minutes flat. On one word for five minutes.  No extreme editing; no worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation.Unscripted. Unedited. So now on Fridays a group of people who love to throw caution to the wind and just write without worrying if it’s just right gather to share what five minutes buys them. Just five minutes.  Today’s word is Worship.

Random 5 Five just five random things.

Worship, I used to struggle somewhat with this word.  I’m not what you would call a great music lover.  What I mean is, I like music, but I really have to be in the mood for it.  Some songs really get my blood pumping others, not so much. With a husband and four children, the noise level in our house can get very loud, therefore, I much prefer quiet.  I’m also an introvert, which means lots of stimulation, large crowds, and loud noise has a draining effect on me.

When I’d be in church service I’d feel guilty because I didn’t seem to be connecting with the Lord like others around me (I know..I know I’m not supposed to compare myself to others).  My attention span was about one or two songs. Oh, I wanted to be united with the Lord through song, but only certain songs seemed to bring that connection.

Then one author wrote something that really gave me peace.  Worshiping with God isn’t just something you do in church.  Worship is reverence–profound feelings of awe–respect, love, honoring, admiration, and devotion to God.  God is not a physical being, He can be anyplace anytime.  Which means we can worship Him anytime and in anyplace.  It’s not were we worship or how we worship, its that our worship is genuine and true.

I worship God when I look outside my window in the morning and watch robins pluck worms from the ground.  I worship God when I give thanks for the husband and four blessings the Lord has brought into my life.  I can worship God when I look up into the sky of blue and watch large white fluffy clouds drift by.  It’s a heart issue, and posture to give thanks and reverence to God. Recognizing He’s in all things, at all times.

Random (1) In three more post I will be publishing my 100th post.  I plan to write about how this blogging thing came to be.  Hope you will stop back by for this post.

Random (2) I really enjoyed posting a floral photo and a scripture verse this month, therefore, I’ve decided to post a red, white, and blue photo each day next month along with either a scripture verse or a short quote or fact.  Stars and Stripes for September.

Random (3)  Big brothers love to aggravate little sisters.  You can lol, but I have to keep peace.

  1. Kasey,
I love how you reminded me that worship isn’t just something we do during a Sunday service. It’s a 24 hour a day thing. I have four kids also, and I know how hectic life can get. Thanks for prompting me to look for ways to worship all through my day. Hope you have a happy Friday!

    • I’m so glad this post was an encouragement to you. I used to even think maybe something was a little wrong with me, but then I realized that God created me and therefore He must have wanted me to be exactly like I am. I take great pleasure in seeing all God has created and I’m learning the art of thankfulness and I believe God is blessed by taking pleasure in all He has given us. Thanks for leaving a message. Blessings and peace to you and your family, Kasey

    • Glad you liked the cattle pictures–they are not mine. I love just driving around and finding things to take pictures of. I wanted to let you know I like to leave comments, but often times if its not a wordpress site it will refuse my comment. Tried getting a gmail account but not having luck getting it to work. Loved your photo of butterfly and zinnas. Thanks for commenting. Blessings, Kasey
