Five Minute Friday – Story

I plan to post a picture of a flower and a scripture verse each day in August starting today.

Today I will be linking up with Five Minute Friday.  You write for five minutes, unedited about a one word topic.  Today’s word is Story.

A picture may be worth a thousand words but a story takes you places far and near.  You aren’t just looking at a picture of a tropical island you are setting on the beach, the ocean breeze mushing your hair, the roar of the ocean filling your ears, and the sun’s rays warming your face.

You go places you’ve near been before, places you’d like to visit but not stay. You learn about other places, other time periods, and other peoples lives.  You become the character in the story.  You are pulled along with their struggles, joys, and heartaches.

You learn compassion and empathy for others.  People in other places become more than just a place on a map they become real, living, breathing, individuals with a beating heart just like you.

Thanks for stopping by, your comments are welcome.  Please stop back by and view God’s Words along with one of the many flowers He has created.

Count blessings, Kasey

  1. Thinking of remembering stories from my childhood..I agree, pictures are key to keeping the stories alive. Sometimes I wonder if I really have a memory or if I have just heard others tell the story and seen the pictures. Thanks for sharing.

    • Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I think we can remember some of our childhood memory. I have flashes of memory when I was three or four and can remember the house I lived in at the time. Beautiful baby picture. Blessing, Kasey
