Five Minute Friday – After

To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.  Revelation 3:21

I’m hooking up with Five Minute Friday – you write for five minutes about one topic, today’s topic is – after.

Sometimes after something is finished we feel joyous and excited.  Like after a first date, you might have come home so excited you couldn’t even sleep.  Or after going through the pain and exhaustion of giving birth, there are no words to describe the feeling of love that washes over you when they place your child in your arms for the first time.  And perhaps after a dark and furious thunderstorm when the sun shines bright, warming the earth.

Sometimes after something is finished, it’s not so wonderful.  Like when a relationship crumbles and you are left with a broken heart.  Or when the holidays are over and you are left with the clean up, with the let down of life as usual and mundane.  What about after vacation when you come home to the same old, same old.

Sometimes after something is finished you feel elated.  Like when you have a big test-you study and study– and then finally it’s over.  Or when you finally finish cleaning the house. Or even when the day is done and you can slide into bed and rest.

But when it’s all said and done, not matter what way the after goes,  Jesus is still on the throne.

  1. That’s right! He is still on the throne. I declare that over myself all the time! I love your analogy of child birth…..such an analogy of how pain or going through something brings blessing. Sometimes it hurts the most right before the prize! Thanks for posting today! You linked up just before me on Lisa Jo’s blog. Blessings!
