Five Minute Friday – Broken

He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.  Psalm 147:3

DSCN1279

Type for five minutes on one subject–today’s word is BROKEN.

Broken–what a word!  We live in a world full of brokenness:  families, marriages, and lives.  All of us broken people walking around wounded.  Some fully aware of their brokenness, others… unaware–searching for that one thing to fill all the broken places.  Looking to things: alcohol, drugs, sex, etc.  Looking to people–broken people–hoping for the perfect one to make them whole.  It’s a lie (like the one Eve believed in the garden–Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surly die.  Genesis 3:4) to be sure–no human can ever fill the broken places.  Only a Holy God–the one who created us in the beginning. The one who never meant for us to be broken in the first place.

A Just, Holy, Loving God–perfect without blemish or spot–the Lamb of God.  His body had to be broken in order that we could become whole.  God without flaw…saves us full of flaws.  The whole was broken, to make whole the broken.  Amazing God!
