Then Peter called to him, “Lord, tell me to come to you by walking on water.” “All right, come.” Jesus said. Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he looked around at the high waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Instantly Jesus reached out his hand and grabbed him. “You don’t have much faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” And when they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. Matthew 14:28-32 NLT
When Peter took his eyes off Jesus he began to sink. We are to keep our eyes on Jesus, not looking to the right or the left. As long as our focus is on Jesus, we will never sink.
When we fail to keep our eyes facing Christ, he is quick to rescue us. Instantly Jesus reached out his hand and grabbed him. “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5b-6
He will never leave us or forsake us. Wow!
