For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Since we live in world where you could probably get married and divorced all in the same day, I thought I would blog on love. Our culture mistakenly leads us to believe that love is about a feeling. How some other person makes us feel. When that emotion wanes or disappears completely, many falsely believe they are no longer in love.
Scripture teaches us that love is no a feeling but a choice. When we make a conscious decision to love we are practicing the same kind of love Jesus gives to us. Feelings fade, they cannot be substained for any length of time. For example, do you remember the excitement you felt when you got your first drivers licence or how you felt when received your first paycheck. Most likely not. True love is a choice. We choose to love our mates, our children, our extended family, and our friends.
God made a choice to allowed His Son to die upon a cross, in order that we would not die and would have eternal life. Often we think I can’t love him or her because… fill in the blank. But our Lord loved us so much that He was willing to allow His one and only Son to die for us. I don’t think that was an easy choose to make!
Jesus made a choice to obey His Father and endure a horrible death upon a tree in order that we could receive salvation. Wow! Amazing! What an example of choosing to love!
I imagine my husband really didn’t feel like making this beautiful frame for me, but he did. He made a choice to show his love for me by happyly creating this frame to display our children’s fingerprints.
We make the choice to love, its not always easy but its still a choice we can make.

And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22: 41-44
When Judas betrayed Him..
